Please remember, if you haven’t had your hair coloured with us before or it has been six months since your last hair colour appointment, you’ll require a Skin Test at least 48 hours before your hair colour appointment.

Hair Colour aftercare

At Janet Best Hair Design we only use System Professional & Wella Products in Salon and we always recommend you use the aftercare to maintain your new hair colour at home.

Here are a few essential steps to maintain your colour inbetween visits:

  • Use the Shampoo, Conditioner & Treatment recommended by your stylist. Supermarket shampoos contain a lot of bad sulphates and silicones which will not only strip your colour but will also cause damage over time.
  • Minimise heat styling: Excessive use of heat styling tools like straighteners or curling irons can cause colour to fade more quickly.
  • Always use a heat protection spray when using heat! (check the temperature of your heated appliances anything over 200 degrees is too hot)
  • UV protection: Exposure to sunlight can lead to colour fading. Protect your hair by wearing hats & using products with UV filters when spending time outdoors.
  • Bond Rebuilding Treatment: Wellaplex is a treatment we recommend to all our Colour Clients in Salon & continued use at home. It helps to reconstruct inner hair bonds for stronger hair during lightening and color services.
  • Gentle brushing: Use a wide-toothed comb or a brush specifically designed for detangling to minimise breakage and preserve your colour. Start from the ends and work your way up to avoid unnecessary stress on the hair. Hair is weaker when damp/wet so please be careful when dentangling.
